At a candlelit dinner make sure the candle flame is relatively below the eye level. At eye level the flickering of candlelight can be disturbing or distracting during cross-table conversations.

For the most elegant of tables, select tall tapers. Again, if the table you are decorating your candle is large then try to put tall candles, if the table is small then reduce the size of the candles.

Tall candles illuminate the room and the diners’ faces, while short candles illuminate the food. Taper candles looks more elegant than pillars.They are also more affordable.

Tea-light candles are usually used in restaurants.It is advisable to use unscented candles because the fragrance might end-up ruining your dishes and you never know some people are allergic to scented candles.
